- The Aldi app will send you push notifications letting you know when items you frequently buy are on sale.
- Try the Aldi brand items. In some cases, they are IDENTICAL to the name brands and are half the price! Aldi tied with P&G for most products of the year in 2021. A couple examples of identical name brand twins are Kraft Parmesan cheese and Ghirardelli brownie mix!
- Check out the seasonal aisle for holiday stuff. Find advent calendars, wine, cheese, coffee, Christmas and Valentine candy, and home decorations
- BYO: one way Aldi cuts costs and passes them down to the consumer. Make sure you bring a quarter to “rent” a cart and bring your own bags. You can also help yourself to any empty boxes you find on the store shelves to pack your order.
- Great Value (Walmart brand) items are at the least 50 cents more than Aldi brand items.
- Twice as Nice Guarantee – Aldi stands behind all they sell. If you’re not happy with any product, return it for a full refund AND a replacement.
- Watch for yellow and red Aldi Savers price stickers. This marks a sale item and in the lower right corner tells you when the sale date is over.
- They’re very competitive on meat and milk. This is no doubt two of the items that have increased most due to inflation and supply chain shortages.
- If you eat gluten-free, you’ll save on buying their Live G Free brand over Walmart
- Items to avoid buying at Aldi – you’ll get cheaper online or with coupons: diapers, toothpaste, laundry detergent.
- Ordering online and picking up is a convenience, but will cost you not only a $3.99 pick up fee but items are marked up. It’ll cost almost 20% more than going in-store.
- Bakery items are discounted 50% 2 days before they expire. Bread, bagels, and even cookies can be frozen in your deep freezer.
