Old Navy is a fantastic place to go for clothes, shoes and accessories for the whole family at great prices! There’s no reason to ever pay full price for anything there as the sales are plentiful and so competitive! If you want to up your savings game and save even more at Old Navy, you’ll love this list of top secret tips and tricks to get the most for your money while shopping at Old Navy.
- Consider the Old Navy Credit Card if you Shop There Often – You know how we usually feel about credit cards. If you use it responsibly and pay the balance off in full every month, you’ll make it work for you and not against you. It has a hefty interest rate (currently 23.99% APR – yikes!). Benefits of the Old Navy card include 5X the Navyist Rewards points (more about Navyist Rewards is coming up later in this list!) . Card holders also get exclusive sales and advance access to sale events. The first time you make a purchase with your brand spankin’ new Old Navy Card you’ll get 30% off so plan to open the card when you have a lot of shopping to do, like back to school or Christmas shopping.
- Navyist Rewards – Navyist Rewards is their newest way to reward customer loyalty. Sign up for this fast and FREE program. For every $1 spent, you earn 1 point. Every 100 points is $1 back. You can redeem points in increments of 100. Old Navy Cardholders get 5 points per dollar, as I mentioned earlier.
- Stay Connected – Save Dough – subscribe to Old Navy’s free email list to get sale alerts emailed to you. When you sign up, you’ll get a 20% off your entire purchase coupon. You can also get texted the daily sales and when you register you’ll receive a $5 off $35+ coupon. A % off and a $ off coupon can be stacked if you meet the spending threshold of both coupons!
- Deal of the Day – Every day is their is a new sale at Old Navy. If you love their activewear like I do (which BTW is fantastic quality for the price!), whatever you love will go on sale at least once every 2 weeks. Watch for the sale, shop early as sizes sell out fast, and combine that sale price with a coupon. At the time of writing this article, we spotted all Women’s PJ’s for 50% off one day only. In addition, the whole store is on sale, with prices up to 60% off.
- Old Navy Will Price Adjust! – Don’t you hate when you buy something and it goes on sale right after? Most retailers will offer a one time price adjustment, and Old Navy is one of them! Save your receipts, if an item you buy goes on sale at a better price within 14 days, they will refund you the difference! Note that purchases that used a coupon are unfortunately not eligible for price adjustments. If you got free shipping with a coupon, that purchase IS eligible for a one time adjustment. If you shopped online, do a live chat and have your order number handy.
- SuperCash! – One of Old Navy’s best programs is Supercash. Several times a year, Old Navy offers their Supercash promo where you earn Supercash. Supercash is earned whether you shop in store or online. Supercash earn periods are 4 weeks long, where you can earn multiple SuperCash coupons to use during the Redemption period. Supercash is tiered: see the pic below to see how much you can earn. During the Redemption period, you get $10 off for every $25 you spend.
- Become a Clearance Queen – In store, Old Navy handles all their clearance markdowns weekly, on Sunday and having it wrapped up by Monday evening. Hit the stores early Tuesday mornings to have your pick in the clearance racks. Anything ending with a price of $0.47, $0.97 or $0.99 are clearance priced. Clearance moves fast, so be aggressive and stop in often. Like any type of clearance shopping, this is an amazing chance to grab bigger sizes for your kids for next season. Once in a while, Old Navy will offer an extra % off clearance, usually no coupon is needed, the extra discount comes off at checkout.
- Mid to end of season is the best time to buy. You don’t necessarily need to wait for the end of a season to start scoring some amazing deals on seasonal clothes! Mid Season onward is the best time to buy. For the best deals on winter clothing, shop from 1/15-3/1 (still plenty of time to rock those new winter clothes!). Add to your spring wardrobe from 4/15-6/1, and replenish your summer closet mid summer, from 7/15-9/1. Then add cozy sweaters, leggings and other fall clothes to your wardrobe from 10/15-12/1.
- Outfit the kids for less! For kids, shop ahead and stock up on all their wardrobe staples! Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the time to buy a size or two ahead for kids clothes. Everything is up to 80% off (especially in the clearance section) or at least 50% off on in season merchandise. Often there will be free shipping on $25+ orders too on Black Friday weekend.
- Online Sales are Typically Better – I have some good news and not so great news. Online sales are typically cheaper than in store sales. If you’re like me and love to shop from your couch or computer, it’s so easy and convenient. Bad news is, these online sales are SUPER popular and sizes and colors tend to sell out fast. If you’re waiting for certain items to go on sale, shop early in the day. Say you want some new workout clothes. Watch for your Old Navy email or text alerting you to the sale of the day, then shop ASAP!
- Ditch Shipping Charges! I absolutely loathe paying for shipping. Nothing can kill the vibe of getting a great discount quicker. If you have a store or two nearby, free in store or curbside pick up can save the day. I have found though in my experience if you’re needing more common sizes your store may not have it, thus killing your chance at free pick up. If you plan your online orders to spend $50 at one time, you’ll get free shipping with no code. Black Friday and throughout the month of November you will see $25+ orders get free shipping. You can also order through the store for shipping and get free shipping if the order is $25+! Lastly, if you have the Old Navy credit card probably the BEST PERK is FREE shipping with code NAVYIST.
- Use Discounted or FREE Gift Cards! – When you use savings apps like Ibotta and Shopkick, the cash back you earn or points you rack up can be used traded for Old Navy gift cards!
